Inside Vision screening of Recovery in Maine short films at MSP

September marks Recovery Month in Maine—a time to celebrate the strength of individuals in recovery, increase awareness around mental health and substance use, and acknowledge the work being done across communities to support healing and transformation.

As part of this statewide observance, Inside Vision Arts Programming is proud to partner with Sarah Erwin of Points North to host a special screening of Recovery in Maine short films at the Maine State Prison (MSP). These powerful, real-life stories highlight the resilience and humanity of individuals navigating recovery, offering insight, hope, and connection to those currently incarcerated.

While the screening is not open to the public, it reflects a growing commitment to recognizing recovery as a vital, community-wide process—one that includes people inside and outside of the prison system. Art and storytelling remain essential tools in this movement, helping to dismantle stigma and foster understanding.

How will you honor Recovery Month? Whether it’s by listening, learning, sharing your own story, or supporting someone on their journey, every act of acknowledgment matters.
