Join us for an afternoon of art and performance by individuals impacted by incarceration to explore how creativity fosters healing, connection, and community awareness.
Program:
2:30-3:15 – Explore MPAC’s prisoner art show while connecting with resource tables supporting justice-impacted communities, accompanied by live music from Pip Walter.
3:15-3:45 – Welcome and introduction from Peter Bruun, Executive Director Studio B, followed by an artist talk by Ed Epping combining personal anecdote with insights on his ongoing Corrections Project.
3:45-4:15 – Linda Small introduces the work of Reentry Sisters, MPAC, and Freedom & Captivity, followed by story, poetry and performance all about carceral experiences by Cuba Jackson, MacKenzie Kelley, Nicole Lund, Danielle Ward, and others.
4:15-5:00 – A conversation moderated by Peter Bruun with everyone who presented during the event on how creativity helps with healing and justice.
